Sale of Citi El Salvador to Terra Group

It has emerged that the operation may include the insurance company SISA, and that the transaction may be worth $180 million.
 
An article on Elmundo.sv reports that "... Almost a year after announcing its departure from the retail banking market in 11 countries, yesterday it emerged that Citigroup has finally reached an agreement to sell its operations in El Salvador. According to sources close to the deal, shares of Citi in El Salvador were sold to Terra Group, owned by the Honduran businessman Fredy Nasser Antonio Selma."

According to the Salvadoran Banking Association (Abansa), as per reports by the Superintendence of the Financial System (SSF) up until last July Citibank El Salvador had assets of $1,582 million, the fifth highest bank assets in the country.

So far there has been no confirmation of the purchase / sale by the parties or related institutions.
